Beyond the comfortable exercise of jazz improvisation, Anti-Douleur prefers playing using random strikes. Inspired both by the name and content of John Zorn and Mick Harris’ legendary band, this project is first and foremost the encounter of Satan’s (RIP) former mad drummer and a unconventional saxophone. If their song on “a.va.lon” found its narrative frame thanks to Plastic Lobster’s cold guitars, here Nico Gaillardon's sampler evokes the sounds of a city in the midst of an industrial crisis.
